Grandma

My Grandma passed away about a month ago. It was her time and I know that she lead a very complete and fulfilling life. She was a true woman of God and a great example of an amazing woman. On the morning of her funeral we woke up and saw this rainbow outside of my parents house. My mom woke me up to show me the rainbow and told me that she knew my grandma was looking down on us. It is amazing to see God's beauty.

Just beginning

So since we just started blogging, I thought that I would put up a few random pictures from throughout the summer and fall. We have been busy a lot these past few months, but we have gotten to do a lot of things. We are enjoying our dog Lincoln tons as you can see by his 1st birthday. We also had a great time at the Halverson's for Halloween. We were the band Death Cab for Cutie.

election night

Last Tuesday was an exciting time for America, but more importantly an exciting time for my mom. As the National republican candidate got a historic beat down my mom destroyed the competition locally in my hometown Yucaipa. With 14 candidates running for three spots on the city council she was determined to win -- a competitive trait I'm happy she passed on to me. Long story short -- she got the second highest number of votes, second only to the long time mayor. Lucky for Emily and I, we got an invite to the election party. We got to wine and dine with all the big wigs in Yucaipa in an extravagant house on top of a hill overlooking the valley. Attendees included 5 of the 6 city council members, the major, the fire captain, and a former police captain. It was a sweet experience and my mom earned what she got. It's not about what you know....it's about who you know.
