Hawaii

Jeff's favorite part of the trip was the bike ride we went on. We were taken in a van to the top a volcano. We were able to look around, and then the van took us back down to 7,000 ft. At 7,000 ft we started our bike ride. We rode 28 miles down the volcano going somewhere between 30 and 40 mph. It was a little scary at first, but once I got comfortable with it, I was really able to enjoy the view.




Jeff and I just got back from one week in Maui. We had so much fun! We were able to spend time with his parents, aunt and uncle, cousins, and their 20 months old little boy. Jason fell in love with Jeff. Whenever Jeff would leave the room, Jason would ask where Jack went. We came to learn that Jack was his way of saying Jeff. It was so nice to be able to relax and enjoy the sun. We can't wait to go back!

Our Nephew Anthony Kenneth

I was so lucky to be able to go visit my sister Eileen, brother-in-law Anthony, and their newest addition Anthony. I got there when he was only 5 days old. It was so great to be able to spend time with him when he was truly a newborn. Here are a few pictures from my visit. I can't wait to go back in July. I am sure he will be a different little boy.

My Classroom

I just got back from Open House. It is so stressful to get everything ready for the night, but it is well worth it. The kids were so excited to show their parents their classroom and their parents loved it. I just wanted to share a few pictures because I am really proud of my room and my students.

Angels game

Last Tuesday we went to our first Angel game with good friends. It was a long night, but we love baseball so it was definately worth it!

Last weekend our good friend Ryan and Monika had a get together at their house. We had good food, good drinks, and best of all we had an amazing Cornhole tournament. Jeff and I first learned about Cornhole last summer at my cousin Joe's house in Iowa. My mom and dad bought Jeff his own set for Christmas and now we just love playing the game. Jeff and I actually both make it to the championship game, but unfortunately Jeff and his teammate were victorious. We also had a rousing game of Flip Cup. Jeff was definately feeling the Flip Cup and Jello shots the next morning. We love hanging out with Ryan and Monika and Lincoln loves hanging out with Dodger. Hopefully there will be many more tournaments this summer.

My garden

A few weeks ago my mom and dad came out to help me plant my first garden. They worked super hard to help me clean out all the old plants that were there and make sure I had good soil. I planted tomatoes, squash, green beans, bell peppers, lettuce, broccoli, cilantro, basil, parsley, green onions and spinach. I have been really good at keeping things watered because Jeff said everything would probably just die so I want to prove him wrong. As you can see, it is coming along nicely. Hopefully I will have some fresh veggies soon.
